Things That Boost My Vibe

Opposite of my pet peeves

Dither hither over thou holy yonder. Vibe boosters on a rainy day:

• Poops that leave no trace. You wipe but there’s nothing to wipe

• Bakery waft

• Plopping down a checkout divider on the grocery conveyor belt

• Waking up and immediately feeling energized

• Cooking the perfect amount of rice

• Watching a show for the first time knowing you’ll rewatch the whole thing again because it’s so good

• Going for a late night walk and the temperature is perfect

• Laughing so hard your stomach hurts

• Finding the sock you haven’t been able to find for 3 months

• Washing your metal water bottle after weeks and taking the first fresh swig

• Feeling the sun on your face knowing you’ll fall asleep

• Finding plenty of overhead space above your seat on your flight

• Walking into an air-conditioned room on a hot summer’s day

• Smell of freshly mowed grass

• Walking into a public bathroom stall and it’s sparking clean

• Washing dishes right after using them so you don’t have to scrub off crumbs

• Taking a boiling pot off the stove right before it overflows

• Going into a dentist appointment knowing you’ve been flossing consistently

• Wearing warm clothes straight out of the dryer

• Getting a streak of green lights on a drive

• Not dealing with an unnecessarily antagonistic border officer

• Marvelling at a daily wonder of life like electricity coming out of outlets

• Playing a playlist on shuffle and the first song is exactly what you want to hear

• Seeing someone you don’t want to talk to and they don’t notice you

• Introducing two different friend groups together and they get along

• Not stubbing a toe

• Reminiscing about old travels with friends

• A genuine compliment

• Avoiding a parking ticket after forgetting to add time to the meter

• When the flight attendant lets you have both snacks instead of having to pick one

• The moment you step outside and panic if you forgot to wear pants but realize you indeed have them on

• Starting a YouTube video and there’s no ad

• Putting a book on a shelf after finishing it

• Closing your laptop after finishing all of your work

• New car smell

• A friend’s LinkedIn job update
